Exploring San Fran

Two words to describe the food scene is San Fran Exciting and Colorful. There are so many options to choose from and is what I would consider Foodie Heaven in the West Coast .

From restaurants that locals frequent to foodie adventures for tourist, I was able to experience it all. Below I will give a breakdown of my Top Eats in San Fran

  1. Crabhouse 39 - Great food, service, and nice view . For appertizers I ordered the Crab Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. For an entree I ordered the cheeseburger topped w/ crabmeat it was the perfect combo for a swap to your everyday Surf and Turf. For my second entree I ordered the sizzling iron skillet combo with shrimp and mussels topped with their secret garlic sauce which is very popular at the restaurant. You can taste the freshness of the food while consuming it. The food was to die for !

  2. The Bird- A fried chicken sandwich spot in San Fran, and exactly what the city needed ! I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich which came with celery, house-made apple slaw, mayo and pickles on a freshly baked bun. Of course If you know you know, I opted out of the mayo. The chicken was fried perfectly, still juicy and placed on a fresh toasted bun. What made the The Bird even more unique is that the buns are made fresh daily in house ! Of course I added their house spicy sauce to the sandwich as you can never have enough spice ! lol

  3. Blackwood Restaurant and Cafe - American Thai Cuisine. I sat outside as the weather was nice, I ordered the hot stone plate with shrimp, spicy flat rice noodle, bamboo shoots, tomato, onion, bell pepper and basil. The hint of spice along with burst of flavors activated a party in my mouth !

  4. Wine Train- This train ride took place in Napa Valley and was a 3 hr train ride, through popular wineries in Napa Valley. There are other options that permit stops at wineries for tasting however I opted out as I wanted to sit back and enjoy the ride and scenic view. I was served a glass of champagne and 4 course meal with the option to purchase additional drinks onboard. The ravioli was delish, and I paired it with a red wine. Be sure to take full advantage of this foodie adventure by paying attention to your tour guide which is the guru of wine while aboard.
